00:00:01 And that’s where people have the most trouble with these that it looks like there’s no damage right here because the damage that caused this has actually toned if and I can tell you I’ve seen it. I mean since 2009 even before that but since I’ve had my coin help you community since 2009 I know exactly what happened to this coin. So the person post is this PMD on the zero in the date? Looks like it could be RPM. Well, we’re not worried about the RPM. Okay, that’s rep punch mint mark. What we’re looking at is they hit it right on the
00:00:33 head. PMD on the zero and the date. The reason is is that for one, let’s say entertain the idea that it’s a D that’s upside down and crooked. This D is not the same size as any D on the design of this scent. It’s the D’s that we have on the scents. Um you got one cent all the letters that you have in God we trust. So that’s the only one is that D. Okay. And now I know it looks the same size, the same shape. So it looks very similar, okay? But it’s not going to be the exact and it would have to be, but
00:01:08 yet it wouldn’t be raised if it was a drop letter or something like that. So this D could not come off the die and strike this right here. This is an incuse area on the actual die that struck the coin. So it can’t show up like this over here. It would have to be incuse on the die. In other words, the die would have to have another D put on it. carved in it or engraved in it. So, what happened here? We’re going to show another one. So, I had someone else post one very similar, and you can’t see this
00:01:34 one as well, but it’s very similar, but it’s also they thought it might be a D because it’s kind of shaped like it. This one’s not even close. Well, what happens is these coins are circulated. That’s one thing you have to remember early on when these coins were pretty much, you know, just put in circulation. the side of another coin or an object. Let’s just put it that way. Slid contact mark basically at an angle and just clip and push that metal of this O. Okay. And you can look at it over here really
00:02:06 well. And this is a better picture. So, at an angle, something hit this and moved this metal. You can see how it’s kind of like a little bit of a lip. Like it might be a little bit sharp right here. If you look real close, try to zoom in there a little bit. But it looks like there there is where this is more rounded looking. I know a lot of people be like, I don’t see that. I don’t think so. Well, let’s put it this way. It circulated after this sliding contact mark or angled contact mark hit this zero. And what happened is
00:02:37 over time it wore down and wore down obtained the same patina as the rest of the coin. And that’s where people have the most trouble with these that it looks like there’s no damage right here because the damage that caused this has actually toned. If you would, you know, obtained a patina, the same patina as the rest, but it really hasn’t. If you look here, it’s a little bit darker. It’s a little bit different than the rest of the coin. You can see it here, here, all the way down to here and around the date. You
00:03:08 can see differences. It doesn’t look the same as in the fields up here. It’s a little bit darker, just a little different, but also that’s because it’s between between the rim and over here. But if we had to look at this under a microscope, we would guarantee we would see some evidence. Maybe not since it’s worn down, but we know that this is not a D. We know that this is an O that was long time ago was angled contact mark. So, it wouldn’t be a mint error. These are the things that people need to
00:03:34 overlook. They need to just chalk it up as, hey, it’s kind of cool contact mark that’s worn down and then move on to the double dyes and actual RPMs, things like that. So, thanks for watching my latest video. Please like, share and comment and have a great
